Eileen’s areas of expertise and interest have naturally extended to the birth process and post-partum care as well as the breastfeeding relationship. In 1983, she became a Childbirth Educator, teaching until 2002. In 1984, she became a birth doula and added post-partum doula care to her practical care in ‘97.
In her own words, Eileen has noted that:
La Leche League changed me as a person. It enabled a VERY shy young woman to grow as a mother and a woman, and led to the discovery that I could reach out and help other mothers! And I have continues to receive countless benefits as the years have flown by. I continue to learn from the mothers I meet and work with at meetings, and through my doula work.
